PCRE v2.5 to PCRE v 2.6 Upgrade Procedure For COM Customers

These instructions apply to customers using Parallel Crystal with ASP/IIS, Visual Basic and other COM tools

Server

1. Uninstall Parallel Crystal v2.5
   
   
2. Prerequisite Software for a Parallel Crystal v2.6 Server Installation
   A. Install MDAC v2.6 from PCRE CD.
   
   1. Run the PCRE install shield. It will detect the presence of MDAC and if it is not where PCRE expects it to be, it will give you the option to install it or exit from the installation. Install the MDAC and reboot.
   B. Install or update Internet Explorer to version 5.0 or above.
   
   
3. Install PCRE v2.6 from the CD. (see installation guide)
   
   

Client (middle tier)

1. Uninstall Parallel Crystal v2.5
   
   
2. Prerequisite Software for a Parallel Crystal v2.6 Client Installation
   A. Install Sun's Java Runtime Environment (JRE) v1.2 or the full JDK 1.2.2
   B. Install Microsoft’s Java Virtual Machine (build 3802 or higher)
   
   
3. Install PCRE v2.6 client libraries only from the CD. (see installation guide)
