Current Saffron Desktop GUI Limitations

Issue #1
The PostScript input module only works with PostScript input from Dynaliery's PostScript print driver, based on the Microsoft/Adobe PostScript print driver.

Issue #2
Saffron supports only True Type Fonts at this time. Type 1 fonts will be supported in the first production release.

Issue #3
Dynalivery's PostScript printer driver is designed for WindowsNT 4.0 and Windows2000 operating systems. Therefore installation on any other operating system will not include it.

Issue #4
Designed for Business documents like Crystal Reports and MS Office and missing (for now) features for graphic arts industry such as color spaces, smooth shading, and masked images. Dynalivery plans to add support for these features in during 2003.

Issue #5
When a Saffron Desktop GUI project is saved with the property for “Location of Saffron Server” set to "" the project will not load and the user will get a corrupt file warning. This has been fixed for the Beta 2 release. Beta 1 users must apply the workaround described below.

Solution
The user can simply change the default property for the location of saffron to something other than "", like NA for (not applicable). This needs to be changed even if the user is not using a remote saffron.
